No matter what you may be going through, Melissa is here to help support you through it. Melissa has been with The Healing Fountain since November 2020. Originally from upstate NY, Melissa graduated with her Masters of Social Work in 2010 from University of Albany. She has been practicing in the field since 2010 in a variety of capacities, including substance abuse/addiction, children and families, residential treatment, and military family life counseling, Melissa has personal experience as a military spouse and understand the complexities of the military lifestyle and its impacts not only on service members, but on their families as well.

 

Melissa is our child therapist here at The Healing Fountain, using a combination of child-centered play therapy, directive play therapy, traditional talk therapy, and other expressive therapies such as art-based and sand tray therapy. She works with children 5 years of age and up. In addition to working with children, Melissa also enjoys working with adolescents and adults. She uses a client-centered treatment approach in combination with CBT modalities, mindfulness practices, solution-focused, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy approaches.
